- First name and last name – to record your pledge and identify signatories
- Email address – to confirm your pledge and, if you opt in, to contact you about our initiatives
- Country – to understand the geographic reach of our movement
If you voluntarily opt in to be contacted, we may also use your email to send you updates about FIRE Foundation events and initiatives.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under the GDPR:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) – You provide explicit consent when you tick the GDPR consent checkbox and submit the pledge form.

- Recording and maintaining a list of FIRE Pledge signatories
- Demonstrating public support for ethical, values-based education
- Contacting you about FIRE Foundation initiatives and events (only if you have opted in)
- Aggregated, anonymised statistics about our signatories (e.g., number of signatories per country)
5. Data Storage and Security
Your personal data is stored securely and access is limited to authorised members of the FIRE Foundation team. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

We retain your personal data for as long as the FIRE Pledge initiative is active, or until you withdraw your consent and request deletion. If you request removal, your data will be deleted within 30 days.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share aggregated, anonymised data (e.g., total number of signatories by country) publicly to demonstrate the reach of the movement. Your name may be displayed as a pledge signatory unless you request otherwise.

- Right to rectification – Request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure – Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
